This season, we celebrate incredible 15 years in which we got the chance to live and shape freestyle in the Alps. When QParks was established, the situation in park building was a little different to current terrain parks. More oldschool, more traditional, more “freestyle” – however you want to call it. Many years passed until the steadily rising standards made the snowcat a default tool of every snowpark. Nowadays, nothing whatsoever would work without machine power. Now, you might have already seen that not all snow cats are created equal. By now, there’s a mind-boggling amount of technology under the hoods of the Prinoth machines and some of them are especially designed for shaping snowparks. The latest masterstroke for this matters is the PRINOTH BISON X machine, ornamenting the parks as the signature-vehicle of the Shape Academy .
QParks – Quality Snowparks – have been both motto and promise to the ride-addicted and ever growing freestyle community from the very beginning in 2002. Most importantly for us, the QParks need to be “Playgrounds for Everyone”, offering the right line for total newbies as well as tough shredders. Setups that simply work and are fun. Since 2014, the park design lies in the professional hands of the Shape Academy, whose 220 experienced shapers and machine conductors have handled the toughest challenges. With utmost precision, the technical managers of the Shape Academy spread out to review terrains already in spring and based on constant evaluations, the respective design and the concepts are being refined. This way the Shape Academy assures that the park buildup will begin as soon as possible after the ski resorts open up their gates. But first, engineers, technical managers and park designers of the Academy spend hours thinking and working on the concepts, before the on-site crews start shaping the masses of snow with the support of the snow groomers. The PRINOTH BISON X is an immensely worthy companion, battling the elements side by side with the Shape Academy. After all, snowparks are the natural habitat of the BISON X. That’s what it was created for. That’s where it belongs.
