30.01.2012Dolomiti Super Freestyle: Freestyle heaven on earth in the San Martino Snowpark
If Adam an Eve had been freestylers, the San Martino Snowpark would have been their paradise. On the 19th of January serial riders of the freestyle school “6punto9” saw for themselves how slinky the lines and slopes are. Our film crew joined this event to get some great pictures. We asked park manager Davide Cerato about the freestyle paradise and what seduces him when he thinks about snowboarding.
The San Martino Snowpark in the Dolomites is a mecca for freestylers. The park-coordinators invest a lot of time and money especially to meet the needs of young riders. The park has been open for five years now, not always under this name, but one man has been there since the beginning: parkmanager Davide Cerato. He talked to us about heavenly conditions for freestylers and offers us a look behind the scenes.
Hi Davide, you claim, that the San Martino Snowpark is a paradise for freestylers. What makes this park the heaven on earth?
The San Martino Snowpark is a unique place that inspires every freestyler. Particularly the young riders are close to our heart. Our freestyle school offers top-notch lessons on a top level and also the LTR (Learn to Ride) Program by Burton provides massive fun for the rookies. I can only be seduced by one thing –powder.
How would you describe the local scene? What is special about your work? Do you like it?
Most of the riders in the Park are snowboarders. So the Freeskier have to catch up. I love my job, I’ve been here for five years now, and I still feel the passion. I love that I can give free reign to my creativity and I’m glad can design obstacles for beginners and Pros. My absolute favorite in the Park is the half pipe. It’s just sick.
We reveal what is planned later this year apart from the half pipe: an Element Line, an Easy Jump Line, a Half Pipe Junior for all rookies. And for all of you who want to shred the paradise with even more adrenaline there is a Medium Slope Style Line, a Jib Area, a Boarder Cross, a 9m PIATELLA down, a 9m T Box down and a 6m Rainbow T Box down. Adam and Eve aren’t the only ones who would surely be seduced by the setup.
Take a look at our clip of the 6punto9 Camp on the 19th of January 2012 and enjoy the paradise. Other awesome events of this season are coming up including the final contest of the South Tirol Slopestyle Tour in the “rookie” category on 1st of April and the Jam Volcom Italia finals on 18th of March.
