It’s show time! On the upcoming Saturday things are gonna get wild, because with the 18-20 m pro kicker the last obstacle of the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel will be officially opened and will provide for the ultimate search of adrenaline! Prior to the Planet Sports and DC public shooting the freestyle paradise was thoroughly examined. The freeski pro Tom Ritsch and the snowboard pro and team head of the DC snowboard Team Benny Wetscher tell us about the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel´s uniqueness!
The shape crew of the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel gave its best and conjured a setup into the snow that will make every freestyle heart beat faster. Thus it is not much of a surprise that the massive shred-offer lures more and more freeskiers and snowboarders into the park. Five freestyle pros went to check out the current setup on a perfectly sunny day – and were completely won over!
Benny Wetscher is a passionate snowboarder since the mid 90s and as team rider and head of the DC snowboard team he has high requirements for the park setup.
Benny, you were a rider and filmer fort the ISENSEVEN movie Kaleidoscope. After having been to the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel: Would you be interested in filming there?
“The DC Snowpark Kitzbühel is good for filming, but when doing professional film shots you typically just focus on one or two obstacles – a big kicker or another special feature. The park in Kitzbühel is way too much fun to simply stay with one obstacle, because the entire setup is just outstanding and incredibly diverse!“
Tom Ritsch, pro freeskier, visits the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel at least once a week to shred.
Tom, how was the shooting and which obstacle did you enjoy the most?
“The shooting day in the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel was truly sick! The park was in perfect shape, the riders motivated and the weather ideal: It could not have been any better! My favorite obstacles are the down rail and the kinked rail. They are in one line and are simply perfectly shaped!“
What do you enjoy most about the DC Snowpark Kitzbühel?
Tom, “Personally I really like that the park starts right after the lift exit with a sweet jib-sector and that the park, including its kicker line, is really clearly arranged.“
Benny, “I like the park best for its diversity in obstacles – it offers so many different lines! Now, after having been to the park, I know for sure that I will definitely come back more often to Kitzbühel.”
