NITRO is the official outfitter of the Shape Academy. Both are supporters of the snowboard sport and both are becoming stronger because of this cooperation – NITRO through the feedback of our shapers who are putting the outerwear each day to the acid test and the shapecrew through the know-how of the label, which has already been part of the industry for “28 Winters” now. This long-standing experience definitely benefits our crew on the mountain.
Especially the construction of the Snowpark at the beginning of the shred season is extremely demanding. During this time 8 shapers are working 9 hours each day – this means from sunrise until sunset – to bring both park areas into “good shape”. The result is a 1,5 kilometers long snowpark, devided into 2 areas with 51 obstacles in total. That of course means that the work clothes too have to withstand a lot.
The outerwear provided by NITRO makes sure that our girls and boys keep dry during work and after, during their well-deserved after-work-shred. “The pants and jackets provided by NITRO keep us warm here at the mountain and also look very stylish. The outerwear is really great for shredding as well.”, says Pawel Wejman, Multi-Media-Shaper of the Snowpark Turracher Höhe. Besides shaping the park his task is to provide the community with pictures straight from the mountain and the snowpark. This way everyone knows what it’s like like up there.
The current situation at Turracher Höhe leaves nothing to be desired. At the moment we have 85cm of snow on the mountain. These are of course great preconditions for our Snowpark and our crew onsite. “Until now, everything has gone well. The weather was great and luckily we haven’t faced any big challenges”, Pawel says. So cross your fingers that it stays like this and that we can make the most of the shred season 2017/18 already in December. Then also our NITRO outerwear can be used on the mountain where it belongs. However, our shapecrew is already testing it – this means you won’t recognize them only by their shapetools, but also by their stylish jackets and pants!
