Shred Poker Schöneben chasing records
A huge number of participants and prime performance by the shape crew
21.03.2019

It was 4am when the alarm clocks suddenly woke up the shape crew of Snowpark Schöneben. A snowpark had to be dug out. Fresh snow required the crew to work extremely hard. In the end, Park Designer Daniel Osterland and his crew made it: Just in time, the crew completed a perfectly shaped multi-jib obstacle. And over 50 riders were hitting this bad boy during the Shred Poker Schöneben.

Yes, you read it correctly. All in all, 55 riders showed up for Shred Poker Schöneben. There have never been that many shredders at a Shred Poker . But the record-breaking event wasn’t only setting a benchmark in matters of quantity, the shred quality at this Chips 4 Tricks Session was also the cream of the crop. The massive multi-jib obstacle was shredded in every way possible – a jib paradise for creative freestyle!

32 chips and the pockets full of cash

“I reached my target today” says a happy Gottfried “Goffi” Gram. The freeskier shredded hard and received unbelievable 32 poker chips. He eventually had the highest stack at the Shred Poker. “Now I’m walking off with my pockets full of cash. It’s a really cool session, I really like that!” With his performance, Goffi secured the major share of the €500 prize money! But no one went home empty-handed after the Shred Poker Schöneben. No, because besides the enormous cash prizes, the freestylers had the chance to win goodies from Amplifi, TSG, POW, Pinetime and QParks!

The relaxed day at Snowpark Schöneben became even better. The crew fired up the grill and everyone joined the BBQ at the end of the day. After the exhausting hike session, it was definitely time for a tasty and hearty meal. The BBQ was of course for free!

A strong performance behind the curtains

The Shred Poker was only going down thanks to the effort of the shape crew in Schöneben.
They definitely got in some overtime hours. “Actually, we already completed the obstacle on Wednesday” tells us Park Designer Daniel Osterland. “But on Thursday and Friday, it snowed heavily, and we somehow had to manage the masses of snow.” In order to get full control of the situation, the shape crew had to be on the mountain very early. “At 4:30am we went to the park with the snowcat and finished the Shred Poker obstacle. As soon as this was done, we dug out the remaining park, so the riders could shred more than just the one obstacle.” What an outstanding performance by the whole crew!

Here we would like to show you a Vimeo video.

Shred Poker Schöneben definitely made QParks history: So many riders, a creative obstacle and a banger performance of the shape crew. If you need further information about Snowpark Schöneben, just visit the Facebook or Instagram page.

“It was back in the 90s. We were fanatic snowboarders, constantly roaming the surrounding hills, building kickers wherever possible. Bad Religion and NOFX were blasting from our battery-powered cassette player. With our camcorder, shovels and boozy tea we had everything we needed and it was a damn awesome time.”
